Claudia Brown

I am a coach, an athlete and a mother of three grown-up sons.

My fitness journey started two decades ago when I brought my two babies to the Central YMCA in central London, a gym and a top training centre for fitness instructors and personal trainers. I started attending group fitness classes. As the small steps of my body began to unfold, so did my happiness and self-confidence. A trainer there set up my first ever free weight training program, and from there, things took off. I loved following a plan and lifting in the gym, although I too, felt intimidated but pushed through!

I qualified as a group fitness instructor in 2003. Soon, I taught freelance classes across busy, bustling central London gyms and workspaces, which was not as restrictive as my prior airline job. Teaching large amounts of people in group classes needed to be more personal for me. I wanted to help each person individually and according to each person's specific needs. I qualified as a PT in 2009 and specified in weight training and running with clients, where many ran full marathons!

My passion for weight training was growing, and I wanted to see first hand, as a woman, what lifting weights only and without cardio would bring to my physique. I loved exploring what my body could achieve, especially after giving birth to three sons! What unfolded was an utterly different physique as I built muscle and loved learning more. I challenged myself to compete as a natural athlete to overcome my fear of public stage presence and speaking, and improve my confidence. I have gone on to win various Finalist British titles. Along this journey, I learned about the transformative powers of nutrition that work alongside the body when lifting weights. From this, my physique grew lean muscle and shape. My metabolism blasted through the roof, allowing me to eat more than a man and get very lean fast without a starvation diet! My bones became dense. My immune system was fighting fit and barely had illness. My inner confidence and sense of self grew.

 

It took me many years of exploration to discover the true, undeniable power of lifting weights alongside correct nutrition, and I am blessed to be able to share my knowledge and experience with you. My passion truly lies in transforming lives. The primary and most crucial starting point will always be from your body. As this changes, it ripples into all of you and your life.
